“Coachella Fest” Prompts Road Closures – Plan Your Trip

Indio police want you to be warned about several roads that will be closed as a result of Coachella Fest going on this weekend.

Here is the list you need to know about.

Road Closures

* Avenue 49 at Monroe

* Avenue 50 between Jackson and Madison

* Hjorth Street between Avenue 49 and Avenue 50

* Madison Street between Avenue 49 and 50

On Friday, April 16 through Sunday, April 18, expect delays after 9am on the following roadways:

* Jefferson Street, southbound from Indio Blvd. to Ave. 52

* Monroe Street, southbound from Interstate 10 to Avenue 52

* Highway 111 at Jefferson Street

* Highway 111 at Monroe Street

* Avoid Interstate 10 eastbound at Jefferson and Monroe

Alternate Routes

For travel north and south in Indio, use Madison Street, Jackson Street, Calhoun, and Golf Center Parkway

For east and west travel in Indio, use Fred Waring, Miles Avenue east of Madison, and Avenue 48

If you live south of Avenue 52, go south to Airport Blvd. before going eastbound or westbound

Some roads will be converted to one-way traffic after 11pm. You will have difficulty getting into the area after 11pm.
