North Shore Cockfighting Ring Busted Before Event

Acting on a tip, early Friday morning, deputies from the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team raided a building in North Shore, uncovering a cockfighting event that was about to happen.

Deputies tell News Channel 3 this was part of an ongoing animal cruelty investigation targeting a building along the 100-000 block of Avenue 72 in North Shore.

Investigators say they found several piles of burnt chicken bones and instruments used in cock fighting.

One man was arrested.

Mario Antonio garcia was taken into custody, awaiting charges of felony animal cruelty.
