Only On 3: The Cellulite Solution

With bathing suit season coming up, we thought we’d put a new cellulite solution to the test.

It?s called the SX-4000 Pro-Body treatment.

?Everyone hates cellulite,? said Dr. Andrew Ordon. ?But women out there, you all have it to a certain degree. Men too. And it’s not related to being overweight, or fat.?

In fact 90-percent of us find the stuff popping up out of no where! It normally creeps up anytime we have a hormonal change.

So the older we get, with child bearing and menopause, it becomes more visible.

So how do we tame it?

Can we beat it with creams and lotions?

?Unfortunately, there’s no ?slap something on and look fabulous the next morning?,? said Lori Crete of Ultimate Skin Suite in Palm Desert. ?You have to work at it.?

Aside from going under the knife, what kinds of non-surgical options are out there?

Lori introduced us to the SX-4000 Body Machine.

?It is done by applying a very specific signature,? Lori explains, ?and this can go in and actually speed up our natural fat burning process.?

It’s a machine that yields ?befores? and ?afters? like the ones you?ll see in the video.

Some have been featured in Vogue Magazine as the ?miracle body machine.? They say it increases circulation, conditioning and toning the skin, and removes toxins.

Clients claim they’re not only shrinking the dimples, but inches as well.

?I’ve had clients lose up to 4-5 inches in just the 45 minutes they’re here,? Lori said.

Sound too good to be true?

A local mother of three, battling cellulite put it to the test.

In fact, Amy Gonzalez owns “The Diet Center” in Palm Desert and is proof you can eat right, and don’t have to be overweight to find the orange peel texture in those embarrassing places.

?You can do some crunches and exercises,? said Amy, ?but there are certain things that never go away after a baby. The skin is not as tight as it was and going into your 30’s and 40’s, it loses even more elasticity, and I don’t have time to do that kind of workout.?

So, what areas does Amy want to banish? Like most women:

?Always [the] belly, butt and thighs,? she said.

With the 3 targets in place, it’s time to hook Amy up to the machine that looks more like something you’d use to jump your car than a beauty treatment.

?These are the actual treatment cords that conduct the signature that’s sent to the body,? said Lori. ?Electricity runs from positive to negative so we’re putting all of the positive on the front and negative on the back, that way her muscles will be trained to move inward to give her that slimming appearance.?

Lori starts Amy on the skin firming and toning setting, and then slowly increases the intensity as the treatment progresses.

Two weeks and four, 45 minute sessions later, we checked back in with Amy and Lori to see the results.

?She has lost a total of 3.5 inches in the abdomen area,? Lori said, ?and a total of 9 inches from the top of the thigh to the bottom.?

?In the backs of my thighs I did have visible cellulite,? Amy said, ?and what I noticed was it was smooth, but also my bottom was lifted so two for one on that one.?

We asked celebrity doctor Andrew Ordon who uses Thermage in his office to treat cellulite about other machines like the SX-4000.

?It makes sense,? he said. ?It may offer some help. To be honest with you, I don’t have experience with it, but again some of the other treatments that are trying to improve circulation get some tightening by the use of heat or electrical energy. It makes sense.?

But, right now, there is no permanent fix for cellulite.

?Anyone of these treatments that are non-invasive, you really have to stick with,? said Dr. Ordon.

?I compare it to having a personal trainer,? said Lori. ?The more you do the treatment, the more you’re going to see an everlasting affect and it works best for people ready to incorporate it into a healthy lifestyle.

?If you go home and eat a pizza, it may be a bit counterproductive,? she said.

One more little trick to mask the cellulite that serves as a little confidence booster: a spray tan.

They may just be temporary fixes, but for Amy she’ll be back for more.

?If you feel good in your own skin, you look good in your own skin,? said Amy.
