Firefighter and Civilian Burned In Indio House Fire

Cal Fire and Riverside County Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire at 83170 Emerald Ave near Palo Verde in Indio, at this hour.

The fire burning in a residential area just west of Golf Center Parkway, and north of Indio Boulevard has reportedly seriously burned at least one civilian and a firefighter. The civilian was transported to JFK Hospital in Indio for treatment.

The fire call went out at 4:30. this afternoon. Cal Fire tells News Channel 3 the house was 50-percent engulfed in flames. The Red Cross has been called in to help displaced residents.

News Channel 3 has a crew heading to the scene, and will provide updates as we get them.
