Facebook Privacy Prompts Some To Delete Their Accounts
Thousands of Facebook users are thinking about deleting their account because of new rules and settings set by Facebook’s owners.
Whether it’s on your computer or your cell phone, chances are you are one of the 400-million people who have a profile on Facebook.
Over recent weeks, though, Facebook has started a new project that some say could put your privacy out on the internet for everyone to see…
Their new project is called “Open Graph,” a technical phrase that basically means if you say you “like” something on Facebook, everyone will know about it.
Take the homepage for Levi jeans, for example. You can now click “like” if you like that particular cut of jean, but now everyone will see you and track you back to Facebook.
Now, there’s a movement on to get people to delete their Facebook accounts.
May 31st, one website claims, is the day members will give a black eye to Facebook, pulling the plug on their profiles.
As of right now, the number of people signed up is just a drop in the bucket to the millions of registered users.
How to delete your account is the big question. Facebook offers to ?disable? it, but the company could still share your information afterward.
To delete it, there are several steps that Facebook doesn’t want to share.
