Palm Springs Medical Marijuana Dispensary Slated To Open
One of two medical marijuana dispensaries given permits by Palm Springs to operate in the city legally is to open later this month, a spokesman for the dispensary said today.
Desert Organic Solutions, which is at 19486 Newhall St., near Indian Canyon Drive, is expected to open by the end of May, said Tim O’Bayley.
Membership to the collective will be open to all qualified patients with a physicians recommendation that is authorized under the Compassionate Use Act of 1996, O’Bayley said.
Gary Cherlin, president of the dispensary, said the nonprofit organization will offer affordable high-quality medicinal marijuana.
“We are working to meet the standards set by government regulators and are one of only two collectives in the Inland Empire that are compliant with all state and local laws, including zoning regulations,” Cherlin said.
Cherlin said he expects around 100 members to join in the first month of operation.
Delivery services will be available for members who have restricted mobility, he said.
CannaHelp, which is at 505 E. Industrial Place, was also given a permit to operate by the Palm Springs City Council, but has not opened.
