Two Kids Riding Bikes Hit By Cars In Separate Accidents

A 16-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck today by a vehicle in Palm Desert, a sheriff’s deputy said.

The accident was reported at 8:07 a.m. on Fred Waring Drive at Monterey Avenue, said Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The bicyclist suffered minor injuries in that case.

This afternoon, a girl on a bicycle was struck by a vehicle in Bermuda Dunes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported at 2:17 p.m. on Washington Street at 42nd Avenue.

The girl suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.

One lane on northbound Washington Street was blocked, the CHP reported.
