Police Investigate Shooting In Cathedral City Neighborhood

A male was wounded when someone in an SUV shot at a group of people on a Cathedral City driveway, striking a vehicle’s windshield and injuring a person sitting inside, police reported today.

The shooting was reported at 10:55 p.m. Thursday in the 67300 block of Mission Drive, said Sgt. Albert Ruiz of the Cathedral City Police Department.

Several people were standing on a driveway when someone in a SUV stopped about six houses north of the home and opened fire, Ruiz said.

A male sitting in his vehicle was cut on his face when one of the bullets struck the front windshield and the glass shattered, according to Ruiz.

Witnesses were unable to provide any suspect information.
