Memorial Day Marked Throughout The Desert

Indian Wells is where one of many local ceremonies will be held on this Memorial Day.

The Eisenhower Walk often includes a tour by the veterans memorial that lists the more than 650 Indian Wells residents who served in the armed forces.

Among the other Memorial Day ceremonies scheduled: Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City is the site for the California Gay Veterans Memorial Association to hold a wreath laying ceremony at 8:45am — also there, the Desert Veterans Memorial Association and the Palm Springs Cemetery District will present a program that starts at 9 a.m.

Then right across the street from the memorial park at Forest Lawn in Cathedral City, they’ll hold their 5th annual Memorial Day Salute. The keynote speaker will be Marine Corps Sergent..John Eric Mejia. He’s he currently stationed at Camp Pendleton with the weapons battalion.
