Palm Springs Considers Permit For Third Marijuana Dispensary

The Palm Springs City Council is scheduled to consider issuing a permit for a third medical marijuana dispensary to operate at tonight’s meeting.

In March 2009, the council voted to allow two collectives, or cooperatives, in compliance with state law to operate within the city’s three industrial zones.

Of 11 applicants, the council awarded the permits to Desert Organic Solutions, 19486 Newhall St., and CannaHelp, 505 Industrial Place.

CannaHelp opened last week, and Desert Organic Solutions is set to open June 5.

An additional collective would help provide a sufficient number of “reliable and appropriately regulated medical cannabis cooperatives,” according to a city report.
