Second Medical Marijuana Dispensary To Open Saturday
Desert Organic Solutions, one of only two medicinal marijuana dispensaries legally sanctioned by the City of Palm Springs, has received its final inspections and is approved to open for business.
The facility will open to its members at 11:00am Saturday at its location near Interstate 10 and Indian Canyon, 19-486 Newhall Street.
Earlier in the week, Gary Cherlin, President of Desert Organic Solutions, tells News Channel 3 he met with inspectors from the Police Department and other city officials to ensure that all City requirements were met. Palm Springs Police certified that the facility was in full compliance with all regulations and granted their approval on Wednesday.
Desert Organic Solutions is a legal collective. Membership is open to all qualified patients with a physician’s recommendation that the applying individual qualifies as a “qualified patient” or “primary caregiver” as defined and legally authorized by the laws of the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 and SB 420.
“We have had tremendous support from the City of Palm Springs and are looking forward to providing safe reliable access to medical cannabis,” Cherlin said. “We will be serving patients from the Coachella Valley and the Inland Empire, and that’s why we chose such an accessible location just 100 yards from the Indian Avenue exit of Interstate 10.” (more)’
