Two Coachella Women Killed In Highway 86 Accident
Two women who died from injuries they suffered when a minivan rolled over in Imperial County were identified today as Coachella residents.
The driver of the van, 64-year-old Maria Lopez de Mora, and the passenger, 61-year-old Silvia Lopez Gastelum, 61, were pronounced dead around 6 p.m. Wednesday at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
De Mora lost control of the van around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday on the northbound state Route 86 at Salton Sea Beach, just south of the Riverside County border, the coroner’s office reported.
