BB Gun Attacks Baffle CHP Investigators

The California Highway Patrol says a sniper armed with a pellet or BB gun continues to target vehicles on freeways in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

CHP Officer Maurice Walker said Monday more than 50 vehicles have been hit along the 10, 15, 91 and 215 freeways in recent weeks. Most of the cars have had their back windows shattered, but no one has been injured.

The most recent shooting occurred Friday when the rear windows of three vehicles were hit along the 10 near Beaumont.

The CHP says motorists who are shot at should pull over to a safe location, dial 911 and try to note as many details as possible about where the incident occurred and any vehicles they saw.
