Police Chief For La Quinta And Coachella Promoted To Chief Deputy
Riverside County Sheriff Stanley Sniff appointed Captain Rodney Vigue to the rank of Chief Deputy on Thursday.
He currently serves as the chief of police for the contract cities of Coachella and La Quinta.
Sheriff Stanley Sniff said, “Chief Deputy Vigue is a long-time resident of the Coachella Valley. He has worked a variety of assignments within the Palm Desert, Indio and Blythe stations. The knowledge he has gained will make him a perfect fit for his new assignment as the Chief Deputy over East Field Operations. As a department we will benefit from the strengths Chief Vigue has to offer.”
Vigue began his career as a deputy sheriff working in the Blythe area of the County of Riverside in corrections and patrol at the Colorado River Station, formerly the Blythe Sheriff’s Station.
Vigue was promoted to Sheriff’s Lieutenant in 2002 and was assigned to the Palm Desert Station. He served as the liaison for the contract cities of Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage. He was also assigned to the Cabazon Station, which oversees the contract city of Calimesa.
He was promoted to the rank of Captain on January 31, 2008 and commanded the Indio Station where he was chief of police for the contract cities of Coachella and La Quinta.
