UPDATE: Four Arrested After Fight Turns Deadly In Desert Hot Springs

Four people are now in custody as Desert Hot Springs police investigate a weekend party that turned deadly.

One person was fatally stabbed and seven other people were injured in Desert Hot Springs, a police sergeant said. Some of them were victims, others were suspects.

All four people in custody are juveniles, so their names are not being released by officials. Police do say the altercation was gang-related.

The incident was reported around 1:11 a.m. Sunday morning when a fight broke out near the intersection of Cactus Drive and 3rd Street, according to Sgt. Dan Bressler of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.

The victims were transported to local hospitals where one of them was later pronounced dead, Bressler said.

The fatal victim’s identity was not released pending notification of next of kin, and the investigation was ongoing.

Police asked anyone with information to call Detective Jim Henson at (760) 329-6411 or the Coachella Valley Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-STOP.
