15-Year-Olds Allowed To Audition For ‘American Idol’

For the first time in its history, “American Idol” will allow 15-year-old performers to audition for the popular show seen on our sister station KDFX-TV, Fox 11.

In its 10th year, producers for the show say they want to continue to find the best and undiscovered talent in the nation, so “Idol” is expanding its eligibility range to include 15-year-olds. Performers to the age of 28 will allowed to audition, and potentially make it to Hollywood.

?A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16,? said Cecile Frot-Coutaz, executive producer of AMERICAN IDOL. ?Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool.?

AMERICAN IDOL auditions will be held on the following dates. Details regarding venues will be announced.
