Palm Springs Short Film Fest Kicks Off Tonight

Directors from short films featured at the opening night of the Palm Springs International ShortFest are expected to attend tonight’s screenings at the Camelot Theatre.

The 6:30 p.m. “Opening Night: For Laughing Out Loud,” will feature eight comedic short films,” said festival spokeswoman Emily Davis.

Directors Douglas LaMore and Brian H. Mack of the film “Alan & Frank; The ShortFest Heist;” Kristin Ellingson who directed “Feeding Baudelaire;” and director E. Ivan Infante of the short “Pretty Little Doggie” will attend the screening of their movies, Davis said.

Festival director Darryl MacDonald is also expected to attend.

The festival, which will run through June 28 at the Camelot Theatres on Baristo Road, will screen 314 films from 43 countries.

This is the festival’s 16th year.
