Two Teens Arrested For Firing Gun Into Cathedral City Home

Two teenagers were taken into custody late Monday night after police found them carrying a handgun and several bullets.

Police responded to several 911 calls reporting gunshots in the area of Susan Drive and Avenida Maravilla. When officers got to the area, they found a group of three teenagers, two males, one female, who matched the description given by callers.

Cathedral City police say the officers determined the teens had been involved with a homeowner on the 30-500 block of Avenida Maravilla, and one of them threatened him with the handgun. Witnesses say they returned a short time later, and allegedly shot at the homeowner’s home.

No one was injured.

The names of the two male teenager taken into custody are being withheld. The 15-year-old female was released to her parents, and won’t face charges right now.

Cathedral City police are asking for the public?s assistance in providing any information regarding this incident. Anyone that may have seen the incident occur or has seen the suspects is urged to telephone the Cathedral City Police Department at 770-300 or the Detective Bureau at 770-0302.
