Indio Teen Dies After Accidental Shooting
An Indio teenager who was in critical condition earlier Monday died after accidentally shooting himself in the head.
The shooting happened about 5:45 p.m. near a home in the 82-200 block of Sierra Avenue in Indio.
The 15-year-old was handling a gun when when he accidentally shot himself in the head, according to the Indio Police Department.
He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center, where he died.
It still unclear as to who who owns the gun or how the teenager got a hold of it.
