Time Saver Traffic Alert

Beginning Monday in Indio, Miles Avenue at Clinton Street will be closed for construction. The construction is part of a $2.9 million project to widen Clinton street from Fred Waring to Miles Avenue.

Detours will be marked. Eastbound traffic on Miles Aveneu will be sent south on Madison, then east on Avenue 46 and will end up going north on Clinton. Westbound traffic will go south on Clinton, then west on Avenue 46 and will then go north on Madison to get around the closed off intersection. The closure will last for about 2 weeks, ending on August 16th.

Remember to take it slow when you’re in a cone zone and look out for construction crews. The work will take place during the week from 6a.m.-5p.m. and on Saturdays from 9a.m.-5p.m. In order to complete the work quicker some of it will be done on Sundays.

Road construction is also taking place in Desert Hot Springs. Starting Monday, crews will begin tearing up the asphalt on Cactus, closing it from Pierson to Hacienda. Then Tuesday through Friday, Mission Springs Water District will be replacing water lines on the street. The natural gas company will replace its lines on Cactus from Monday August 9th thru Friday August 13th. The street will be opened immediately as a gravel road until crews re-pave it. Detours signs will be posted.
