Relative Arrested After 11-Year-Old Stabbed
Authorities say they have arrested a possible relative in the stabbing death of an 11-year-old girl in a desert community northeast of Los Angeles.
Los Angeles County officials say they detained a teenage boy suspected of killing the girl and wounding a 14-year-old girl Tuesday in a home in Littlerock. Investigators are still looking into a motive.
County fire Inspector Matt Levesque says the older girl was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Nelson says the suspect is 16 or 17 and may be related to the victims.
He says one family member was so distraught over the attack that he broke through police lines around the crime scene and had to be chased down and tackled.
