Woman Killed By Train In Riverside

A woman was struck and killed today by a Metrolink train in Riverside, police said.

The woman was walking on tracks west of Jefferson Street and south of Indiana Avenue when she was struck by a westbound train about 5:40 a.m., said Riverside police lt. Melissa Bartholomew.

Train service was interrupted while an investigation was conducted, Bartholomew said. No one was hurt on the train, Bartholomew said.

The circumstances of the death were under investigation. The woman’s name was not immediately released.
