Firefighters Contain Morongo Valley Brush Fire

San Bernardino County Fire officials tell News Channel 3 they contained a brush fire that burned near Highway 62.

The fire had threatened homes near Rose Eden Drive, according to fire crews.

Fifteen-to-twenty acres burned in the area, taking a mobile home with it. No one was injured.

Firefighters say many of the nearby homes that could have faced danger were saved because they had cleared the brush up to 100 feet from their homes.

Water-dropping helicopters and two air tankers helped contain the fire.
