Man Found Dead In Whitewater River
Rescue crews retrieved the body of a man found several hundred yards downstream in the Whitewater River, according to the Riverside County Fire Department and Cal Fire.
Crews were called to the scene at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday when a person disappeared in the river.
Late Saturday afternoon, the body of 51-year-old Richard Snyder of Whitewater was found downstream.
The rescue took place south of Interstate 10 and the Whitewater Rest Area along the river, said authorities.
Nearly 15 rescue crews and an aircraft helped.
