Wildfire Contained In Thermal
A wildfire that burned through 40 acres this weekend in Thermal was fully contained by 8 Sunday morning, a county fire official said.
The fire was reported at 3:33 p.m. Saturday near Pierce Street and 69th Avenue, said Jody Hagemann of the Riverside County Fire Department.
One helicopter and 62 firefighters worked to contain the fire.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened, Hagemann said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
