Parolee Arrested For Twentynine Palms Armed Robbery

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Twentynine Palms parolee as a suspect in an armed robbery and shooting at a local real estate office, according to a sheriff’s spokesman.

Brandon Hibler, 24, was arrested just minutes after deputies got a tip that he may be the man who robbed the Del Gagnon Realty and Property Management Company on Highway 62 On August 2.

Two co-workers are still recovering after the shooting, according to deputies.

Investigators said the robber beat a male employee with his gun, which was described as a silver revolver with a brown grip. A bullet also grazed his head.

The robber shot the other worker.

Both were taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where they were receiving treatment.

Detectives say they got the tip on Friday about Hibler’s possible involvement in the crime. Only a few minutes after receiving the information, a deputy conducted a traffic stop near the corner of Manna and Adobe Road, east of Twentynine Palms.

The deputy said the man inside the car lied about his identity at first, but was later verified as Brandon Hibler, a resident of Twentynine Palms who is currently on parole. He said evidence found inside the car connected him to the robbery.

In a search at his house, deputies found a rifle in a vehicle that had recently been reported stolen in a burglary.

Hibler was booked into the Morongo Basin jail on a violation of parole charge. Detectives said they were preparing a report to be sent to the district attorney’s office requesting charges of robbery and attempted murder.
