Dance Instructor Pleads Guilty To Child Sex Charges

Karl Green, the Coachella Valley dance instructor accused of molesting some students and having sex at least one, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.

A Riverside County judge sentenced him to formal probation for 36 months. He will also spend 180 days in the sheriff labor program, which he will work 8-to-10 hour days 5 days-a-week.

He also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of molesting a child under the age of 18. The judge sentenced him to two days in jail, in which he was released due to time served. .

Green, who was a dance instructor for several high schools and private studios in the Coachella Valley, allegedly met one of the minors at Desert Valley All-Star Maverick dance studio in the 73600 block of Dinah Shore in Palm Desert and had sex with her in a house in that city, according to sheriff’s Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela.

He is accused of having a sexual relationship with the girl between May 2007 and October 2008, according to court records.

Green was suspected of molesting the second girl in July 2007, court records state.

Investigators believed Green may have also solicited other girls in Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs and La Quinta.

According to prosecutors, he will be required to report to the county labor program on August 26.

Green will also have to register as a sex offender in the State of California.
