‘Waka Waka!’ Shakira Heads To Fantasy Springs
Two-time Grammy Award winner Shakira will perform at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio this fall, it was announced today.
The concert is set for 8 p.m. Oct. 26 at the resort’s Special Events Center, said Fantasy Springs spokeswoman Ciara Green.
Tickets, which range from $69 to $159, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 11.
Shakira wrote the recent hit “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa),” the official song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The Colombian superstar released the album “Shewolf” in late 2009.
She also has won seven Latin Grammy Awards and 12 Billboard Latin Music Awards, and was nominated for a Golden Globe best original song for “Despedida,” which was in the 2007 movie “Love in the Time of Cholera.”
Shakira is the only Latin American artist to have No. 1 songs in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.
