Foul Smell Leads Police To ‘Suspicious Death’

Desert Hot Springs police were combing for evidence at the home where a body was found on Friday afternoon.

Police arrived at the home on the 9100 block of Jones Court in Mission Lakes Country Club at 3 p.m., after a relative called out of concern about a person’s welfare.

Officers had to break into the home, where they found a decomposing body and a strong foul smell.

Witnesses told police on the scene they hadn’t seen the person who lived in the home for days.

Desert Hot Springs police are now trying to determine if the person died of natural causes or if foul play was involved.
