Strong Thunderstorm Moving Over San Jacinto Mountains

The National Weather Service has issued a weather advisory for the Coachella Valley until 3:45 p.m.

Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm in the Garner Valley, 6 miles north of Anza and 16 miles southwest of Palm Springs moving east at 5 mph.

Hail up to the size of pennies and wind gusts up to 50 mph are expected with this storm along with heavy rain and occasional dangerous lightning. Lightning may start isolated fires outside of the rain area.

Areas affected by this storm include Anza, Lake Hemet, and Garner Valley.
