Indio Shooting Shuts Down A Portion Of Monroe
Shots fired in indio Tuesday forced the police department to shut down a portion a Monroe Street at Miles Avenue.
JFK Memorial notified the police department at around 9:07 p.m. that a person had just walked into the hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Moments later, as officers were making their way to the hospital, a second victim walked in with similar injuries.
Both claimed they were together when shot.
One man and one woman.
Authorities described both as Hispanic in their mid 20’s.
The victims said they were in a vehicle when two men in a white car pulled up to them on Monroe Street north of Miles Avenue near Tahquitz Avenue.
Witnesses who heard the gunfire said at least five shots were fired.
Indio police could not determine whether or not this shooting is gang related.
There has also been no established connection between this shooting and the early morning homicide.
