Body Found Burned In High Desert Fire

San Bernardino County investigators were working to determine the identity of a body found at the scene of a fire off of Highway 62 early Tuesday morning.

Homicide and arson investigators said they responded to a call from a driver in the area of Highway 62 and Hollinger Road at 5:54 a.m. who called to report a fire south of the roadway. He told authorities he also saw what appeared to be a body at the scene of the fire.

Fire crews extinguished the fire, which had been set in an open brush area, and found the body.

Sheriff’s homicide and arson investigators were called to investigate.
