Border Patrol Agents Seize $500,000 In Liquid Meth

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Interstate 8 checkpoint said they seized a large amount of liquid methamphetamine on Monday with an estimated street value of $500,000.

Agents from the Calexico station said they were working the westbound checkpoint when they encountered a suspicious blue sport utility vehicle.

The vehicle was referred to a secondary round of inspections where agents found a suspicious oily substance in the window washer fluid reservoir, located within the engine compartment.

The substance was later determined to be liquid methamphetamine with a value of $505,600.

The Drug Enforcement Administration took custody of the driver, vehicle and narcotics.

No one was injured.
