3.6 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Near Salton Sea

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake hit an area south of the Salton Sea on Friday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor hit at 10:32 a.m. in an area 4 miles north of Obsidian Butte, and 7 miles west of Niland according to USGS maps.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.

The quake was preceeded by a 3.1 magnitude earthquake that hit at 3:01 a.m. that hit 20 miles north northwest of Brawley and 30 miles north of El Centro.

No one was injured.
