Two People Hurt In Crash Involving Motorcycle

One man is in critical condition following a motorcycle crash in Indio.

The accident happened just before noon on Saturday between Jackson and Golf Center Parkway. Police said the motorcycle hit a car next to it. The rider then got knocked off.

Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital. The driver of the car was also hurt, but there is no word on his condition.

As of Monday afternoon, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirms one of the motorcycle driver’s legs had to be amputated.

So far, alcohol is not believed to be a factor, and investigators said it would be a long reconstruction of the events involved.

Roads in the area were shut down during the investigation and cleanup.
