DNA Links Coachella Man To Burglary Two Years Ago
A Coachella man was arrested on suspicion of burglarizing a Desert Hot Springs home nearly two years ago after the Department of Justice matched his DNA to blood found at the scene, police said today.
Raymundo Chitica Bobadilla, 36, was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Monday on suspicion of the Dec. 23, 2008, burglary of a home in the 66700 block of Casa Grande Drive, said Sgt. Daniel Bressler of the Desert Hot Springs Police Department.
Bobadilla is suspected of forcing his way into the home by breaking a bedroom window and ransacking the place, Bressler said.
A handgun, television and laptop computer were taken, the sergeant said.
Blood found at the scene was submitted to the DOJ, and the DNA was matched to Bobadilla, he said.
Bobadilla’s DNA was in a law enforcement database because of previous arrests.
