Police Indentify Teen Shot And Killed In Indio
A 17-year-old boy fatally shot near Indio High School was identified today.
Jose Cardenas, 17, of Indio, was declared dead at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs at 7:38 p.m. Thursday, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
Cardenas was shot about 2:10 p.m. Thursday on Clinton Street at Granada Street in Indio, said Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department.
A young man with a handgun was seen getting into an older-model Toyota with two occupants after the shooting, Guitron said.
