Cathedral City Man Stabbed Repeatedly By Home Intruder

Police are looking for a man who repeatedly stabbed a homeowner after he broke into a home early Saturday.

Cathedral City police were called to the home at 6:45 a.m. on the 37200 block of Melrose Drive in the Cathedral City Cove area. That’s where they found a 64-year-old man covered in blood.

The victim was able to tell officers he was attacked by someone who broke into his home. During the struggle, he said he was able to hit the suspect in the head with an object, so he may have visible injuries

The suspect is described as 20-to-30 years in age, 5?10?-6?02? in height, and about 180-210 pounds. He was wearing dark shorts and an unknown color shirt.

The victim was transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs in serious condition.
