Big Rig Accidents Make Mess Of Morning Commute

It was a slow drive through Cathedral City on Interstate 10, this morning.

A big-rig had to be cleared from the slow lane on the eastbound side at the Gene Autry/Palm Drive exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

That lane is back open now after being blocked.

A truck hauling waste water caught fire on the around 4 a.m.

No one was injured, but it did cause some traffic problems.

East of the Coachella Valley, a big rig overturned about 5:30 a.m. and spilled a load of olive oil on I-10 east at Eagle Mountain Road, near Desert Center, the CHP reported.

Both eastbound lanes were closed for about four hours, but the slow lane was reopened at 9 a.m., according to the CHP.
