Nearly 150 Firefighters Tackle Wildfire

About 145 firefighters battled a rapidly spreading brush fire today in Rubidoux, a Cal Fire spokeswoman said.

The blaze was reported around 12:20 p.m. near Pacific Avenue and Canal Street, burning in light grasses at a rapid rate, said Cal Fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann. It reached 45 acres before being contained at 1:50 p.m.

About 145 firefighters, 17 engines, four air tankers, two water tenders, and two bulldozers were sent to combat the flames.

No injuries or evacuations were reported.
