Pilot Of Palm Springs Plane That Crash Landed In Las Vegas Dies

An 81-year-old pilot who crash landed his plane outside of Las Vegas after departing Palm Springs International Airport has died, according to the Las Vegas Sun newspaper.

John W. Jamison died Nov. 6 following his transfer from University Medical Center to Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas. Authorities did not release a cause of death.

On October 8, News Channel 3 aired live coverage of the single-engine plane that departed from Palm Springs and ended with the crash landing west of the city of Las Vegas.

Clark County spokeswoman Jennifer Knight had said two people were taken to University Medical Center in Las Vegas, including one in critical condition.

The crash is still under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Administration.
