Forever Family Found For ‘Roo’ The Chihuahua
A new family has been chosen for a two-legged Chihuahua who was abandoned in a box at the Riverside County Animal Services building.
A selection committee pored over more than 50 applications for the two-legged Chihuahua nicknamed “Roo.”
Animal Services said the committee made a decision, and the adopter will be coming to the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter on Wednesday.
They said the adopter’s heartfelt, handwritten letter appealed to the staff, in addition to follow-up inquiries made afterward.
The adoption process will happen at approximately 11 a.m. and this will be the first time the adopter will be meeting Roo.
The Riverside County Animal Services Office received hundreds of calls from the public regarding this 4-month-old dog after the story played out in newspapers and aired on television broadcasts and right here on KESQ.com.
“We have appreciated the coverage and, of course, appreciate the opportunity to remind the public that we’re bursting in our shelters with hundreds of other unwanted pets,” said an Animal Services spokesperson. “[That] includes dozens of homeless Chihuahuas – that need loving families too. Roo is one of the lucky ones.”
