Homeless Man Hit And Killed In Palm Springs Street

A man lying in the middle of a Palm Springs road was hit and killed by a passing car, police said today.

The accident in the 1400 block of East Ramon Road near Calle Amigos was reported about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Palm Springs police Officer Rhonda Long.

The man, identified Sunday as 43-year-old Victor Zubel, died at the scene, police said.

A Palm Springs woman driving the vehicle that struck him was uninjured, and she was not cited in the accident.
