Remains Positively Identified As Russian Skydiver

A body found in a field near Perris was positively identified as that of a Russian tourist who jumped out of a skydiving airplane more than two months ago, the Riverside County coroner reported today.

Vladimir V. Frolov, 51, went missing Sept. 25 when he jumped out of an airplane. An extensive search was unable to find any trace of the man.

His body was found about 9 a.m. Tuesday by a farm worker plowing a field west of Murrieta Road and north of Watson Road, about a mile east of the Perris Valley Airport.

The coroner positively identified the remains on Friday.

“The … parachutes were intact and had not been deployed,” said Sgt. Kevin Smith of the Perris Police Department.

Frolov, who had jumped out of the plane without a partner, had been staying at a motel in Canyon Lake and was traveling alone.
