Deputies Search For Suspect In La Quinta Armed Robbery

Two schools were placed on lockdown on Friday morning after a reported armed robbery, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

John Adams Elementary and Ben Franklin Elementary were both locked down for a short time after the hold-up at As Time Goes By on Main Street.

The robbery was reported by workers at 11:35 a.m. who said a man wearing a mask and gloves entered the store armed with a screwdriver and made off with a small amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male adult in his 20’s, 5’7″, with a small build, last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, and blue jeans.
