10-Year-Old Crashes Pickup Truck In Palm Springs

A 10-year-old boy driving a pickup truck crashed into a wall today in Palm Springs, seriously injuring his 54-year-old father, police said.

The boy drove into the wall around 10:20 a.m. in the 1500 block of Mel Avenue, said Sgt. Melissa Desmarais of the Palm Springs Police Department.

His father was pinned between the door frame of the truck and the wall.

The man was taken to Desert Regional Medical center with “life- threatening injuries,” Desmarais said.

The 10-year-old was uninjured and was released to his mother.
