Number Of Homes Sold In Coahella Valley Falls 17 Percent
The number of home sales in the Coachella Valley fell nearly 17 percent in November versus the same month in 2009.
According to a San Diego-based MDA DataQuick analysis, 536 existing homes sold last month, down 9.6 percent from the previous November. A total of 154 condos sold, off 7.8 percent from November 2009, and there were 26 new construction homes sold, down 73.7 percent.
When all the numbers were crunched, for all sales, the decline was 16.6 percent, according to MDA DataQuick.
The valley-wide median price — half the homes sold for less, half for more — fell 7.9 percent to $175,000, with the highest-priced home going out at $2.525 million, according to the data. The median square foot price fell to $105, down 6.3 percent from November 2009, according to MDA DataQuick.
