Airline Passengers Get Extended Stay In Palm Springs
For anyone trying to fly back east from Palm Springs International Airport, officials say unless you’ve heard from your airline carrier via e-mail or by phone that your flight has been canceled, you should show up at the airport for your flight as scheduled.
Still, just because your flight is on schedule leaving Palm Springs doesn’t mean your connecting flight will be waiting.
Chris Foster and his wife are trying to get to Washington, D.C., but due to the East Coast blizzard that has caused thousands of flight cancellations, it looks like they have an adventure on their hands.
After being bumped from their flight from Palm Springs to Dallas-Fort Worth, they learned it’s going to be tough to get home.
“It sounds like it’s impossible to get through anywhere past Dallas or possibly Pittsburgh, Pa., at this point,” said Foster. “Just because everything is so locked up.”
Foster and his wife decided to spend an extra day in Palm Springs and will try to fly out Tuesday.
Once in Dallas, if flights still aren’t going to Washington, D.C., the Fosters plan to drive from Dallas in order to get home. Not factoring in the weather, that’s a 23-to-24-hour drive.
