Rancho Mirage Man Accused Of Shooting Gun At Neighbor

A Rancho Mirage man who allegedly fired his gun into the air during an argument with a neighbor is due in court on March 9, the sheriff’s department reported today.

Officers arrested Mitchell King, 54, on Monday night after recovering a 40-caliber handgun at his residence in the 35900 block of Alameda Court.

King allegedly fired one shot into the air about 10:45 p.m. in response to an ongoing dispute with a 24-year-old neighbor.

He was taken to the Indio Jail and booked on suspicion of negligently discharging a firearm. He was released after posting $5,000 bail.
