Hi-Desert Woman Arrested After Body Found In Garage
An autopsy was scheduled Thursday for a body believed to be that of 22 year old Lauren Hanson McLane.
35 year old Diana Jordan of Yucca Valley is now a murder suspect.
Jordan was arrested back on December 23rd at her home on Goleta Avenue — after San Bernardino County Sheriff’s investigators found a body in the garage.
McLane’s father believes it was his daughter’s body.
He says the two women knew each other.
He says he last saw Lauren back on December 17th — at the Dollar Tree store in Yucca Valley — where she worked.
The next day, he reported her missing.
So far, no official word on a motive or cause of death.
But according to police reports, the victim had been hit in the head with a hammer.
Tuesday, during her arraignment in Joshua Tree, Jordan pleaded not guilty.
“It’s surprising. Usually when things happen like that it’s in other parts of the town. Not in this neighborhood,” said neighbor Marie Kolitz.
Jordan is being held at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga on $1 million bail.
She is expected back in court in February.
